Scholarship Opportunities

Below is a list of scholarship opportunities for AviationNation students.

  • Michael Wallace Memorial Scholarship, an opportunity for a young student interested in aviation to begin or further his or her flight training in sailplanes.  Must be between the ages of 14-22, be a full-time student and have at least a 2.5 grade point average. You must also show a strong desire to learn to fly.
  • AOPA You Can Fly High School Scholarship, deadline: May 2, 2018
    • will award 20 scholarships of $5,000 each to provide current high school students age 15 to 18 with funds that can be used to pay for an initial pilot certificate, including a sport pilot certificate, private pilot certificate, or recreational pilot certificate.
  • AOPA Foundation’s Primary Certification Scholarships, deadline: May 2, 2018
    • can be applied to training for an initial pilot certificate including a sportpilot certificate; private pilot certificate; or recreational pilot certificate. To be eligible for an award, an applicant must be age 16 or older, and must be an AOPA member.
  • Several students have been given flight scholarships at JCHS.
